- Rule 605 Working Group. FIF hosted two calls this past week for the Rule 605 Working Group. The Working Group continued its discussion of the updated Rule 605 FAQs recently published by the SEC. The Working Group discussed at draft FIF letter to the SEC relating to the updated Rule 605 FAQs and the recent exemptive order granted by the SEC.
- Front Office Committee. The Front Office Committee reviewed applicable updates and notices from the SEC, FINRA, FINRA CAT and the equity and option exchanges. The spotlight presenter was Dmitri Galinov of 24X Exchange, who discussed the recent exemption request submitted by 24X Exchange to the SEC and the benefits of trading stocks and tokenized securities overnight on a regulated exchange.
- Tax Information Reporting Working Group. Stevie Conlon, Robert Schwaba and Anna Vayser of Wolters Kluwer presented to the Tax Information Reporting Working Group on “Broker Reporting Issues for Tokenized Securities.”
- CAT Transaction Reporting Scenarios for Options. FIF hosted a call for the CAT Transaction Reporting Working Group to continue the discussion of CAT Transaction Reporting scenarios for options.
- CAT Transaction Reporting and CAT Reference Database Working Groups. FIF hosted two calls this past week for the CAT Transaction Reporting and CAT Reference Database Working Groups. The Working Groups discussed a recent court challenge relating to CAT fees. The Working Groups reviewed a table of expected monthly CAT fees. The Working Groups continued their discussion of prioritizing the recommendations previously submitted to CAT LLC. The Working Groups discussed the SEC’s Concept Release on CAT. The Working Groups discussed recent guidance from CAT LLC relating to Material Inconsistencies.
