- Data and Technology Committee. The Data and Technology Committee reviewed capacity, latency and volume data for the prior month for the equity, options, currency, crypto and futures markets. The spotlight presenter was John Willock of Blue Ocean, who discussed the current state of overnight market data and planned SIP changes for the upcoming expansion of exchange trading hours.
- Digital Asset Securities Working Group. Shawn Sloves, CEO of Fundamental Interactions, presented to the Digital Asset Securities Working Group on the Clarity Act and distributed exchanges (DEXs). The Working Group discussed the SEC approval of the Nasdaq rule filing relating to tokenized securities and the SEC Interpretive Guidance on the application of the securities laws for crypto assets.
- CAT Monthly Update Working Group. The CAT Monthly Update Working Group reviewed guidance and updates from the CAT Plan Participants and FINRA CAT during the prior month. The Working Group reviewed the current areas of focus for FIF members and the current open issues relating to CAT reporting.
- CAT Transaction Reporting and CAIS Working Groups. This past week FIF hosted two joint calls for the CAT Transaction Reporting and CAIS Working Groups. The Working Groups discussed the updated CAT release schedule. The Working Groups discussed the periodic refresh requirement, reporting LEIs and CAT FAQ B24 relating to the ALO, OPO and STP handling instructions. The Working Groups discussed the March 27 SEC approval of the CAT cost reduction rule filing. The Working Groups discussed CAT Fee Alerts 2026-1 and 2026-2 relating to prospective and historical CAT fees. The Working Groups discussed CAT Alert 2026-01 relating to Reference Database Reporting.
