- SLATE and Short Sale Working Groups. FIF hosted a joint call for the SLATE and Short Sales / Reg SHO / Short Reporting Working Groups. The Working Groups discussed FIF scheduling a call with the SEC to request a stay of the Securities Loan Reporting and Short Position Reporting rules given the decision by the 5th Circuit to remand these rules back to the SEC. The Working Groups discussed a request by FINRA for a call with FIF members to discuss comments previously submitted by FIF relating to SLATE reporting.
- SIP Odd Lots. FIF hosted a joint call for the Data and Technology Committee and the Equity Market Regulations Working Group. The Working Groups discussed the exemption request by the SIPs relating to odd-lot depth of book. The Working Groups continued the review and discussion of the technical documentation published by the SIPs.
- SEC Transition Working Group. FIF members and FIF provided an updated on August FIF meetings with the SEC, FINRA and the Treasury Department. The Working Group discussed the SEC’s Spring 2025 regulatory agenda.
- CAT Transaction Reporting and CAIS Working Groups. FIF hosted a joint call for the CAT Transaction Reporting and CAIS Working Groups. The Working Groups discussed draft comments and questions for FINRA CAT relating to Rule 15a-6 scenarios and algo modifications. The Working Groups discussed the CAT item on the SEC’s Spring 2025 regulatory agenda. The Working Groups continued the discussion of a proposal from an FIF member to combine the CAIS system into CAT.
