- FIF Cybersecurity Working Group. On September 21 FIF hosted a call for the FIF Cybersecurity Working Group. The spotlight presenter was Matt Weinberg of CISA, who discussed Current Threats to the Financial Industry and CISA’s 2023 Strategic Plan. CISA is an agency of the US Department of Homeland Security.
- FIF Back Office Committee. The Back Office Committee reviewed applicable FICC, DTC, NSCC, SEC, FINRA, MSRB, OCC and IRS updates during the past month. Please find the September Agenda here.
- FIF Call on CAT Executed Share Model. FIF hosted two calls this week for the CAT Transaction Reporting Working Group call. During the first call, the Working Group discussed the SEC’s September 6 Order approving the Executed Share Model, including current status and next steps.
- FIF CAT Transaction Reporting Working Group. During the second call this week for the CAT Transaction Reporting Working Group, the Working Group discussed the following topics: CAT reporting for an average price account that auto-offsets vs. an average price blotter; CAT reporting scenarios involving multiple IMIDs used by a CAT reporter; a survey request from FINRA CAT to industry members on CAT synchronization requirements and timestamp granularity; recent updates to CAT FAQs; draft FIF member comments and questions for FINRA CAT on reporting a value of zero for minQty and DISQ; and reporting allocation events for foreign symbols
