- Retiring TRF Reporting Requirements that are Duplicative of CAT. FIF hosted a call for FIF members to discuss retiring TRF reporting requirements that are duplicative of CAT (for example, regulatory reports to the TRF).
- Back Office Committee; FINRA Trading Activity Fee. The Back Office Committee reviewed applicable FICC, DTC, NSCC, SEC, MSRB, OCC, IRS and FINRA updates during the past month. FIF reviewed a recent rule filing by FINRA to amend the FINRA Trading Activity Fee. Please find the agenda here.
- FIF CAT Transaction Reporting Working Group. FIF hosted three calls this week for the CAT Transaction Reporting Working Group. During the first call, the Working Group reviewed a draft FIF letter to the CAT Plan Participants and FINRA CAT on CAT reporting for RFQ responses. FIF submitted this letter on July 18. The Working Group discussed issues and questions from FIF members on CAT reporting for RFQ responses. The Working Group discussed the new scenarios in the July 17 FINRA CAT presentation on RFQ responses. During the second call, the Working Group discussed issues and questions from FIF members on reporting for various CAT handlingInstructions values. During the second and third calls, the Working Group reviewed and discussed a draft FIF comment letter to the SEC on CAT costs.
