Working Group Updates (Week of 8/26)

- FIF CAT Tech Spec Working Group - FIF reviewed the recently published CAT Connectivity Guidance and recently added scenarios. During the second meeting of the week, we opened the floor to questions pertaining to the tech spec and scenerios document, we then continued with review of the scenarios document beginning with section 2.11 (child orders) through clearing firm scenarios.
- FIF SEC Rule 606 Working Group - FIF reviewed the 606 FAQs with members and discussed next steps in formally requesting an extension to 606(a) and 606(b) reporting requirements to allow firms requiste time to implement the Amended Rule.
- FIF CAT Working Group - FDID Focus- FIF Review of initial draft of scenarios collected by FIF pertaining to business scenarios that have not yet been fully incorporated into the FDID guidance/scenarios. FIF discussed institutional-based FDID scenarios in detail and raised several additional questions that will be presented to FINRA CAT for clarification.
- FIF Back Office Committee - FIF led a spotlight topic on SEC Reg Best Interest Standards. Back Office Chairs then provided guidance and insight on recent implementation issues relating to exchange, utility, and industry initiatives as well as regulatory changes affecting securities processing and reporting.
