Working Group Updates (Week of 11/26)

03 December, 2018
  • FIF Front Office Committee Meeting -  Focused on order management and trading system issues resulting from proposed rule changes (SEC, FINRA, SROs) and other initiatives impacting exchange traded equities and options, and OTC transactions. Find this month's agenda here.
  • FIF CAT Tech Spec Working Group - FIF reviewed identified issues that will directly impact member firms implemenation of CAT.  We focused on reducing the content of these items to allow ThesysCAT to focus on those questions that may directly impede CAT implemenation.  FIF sumbitted a list of 93 issues to the SROs/ThesysCAT pertaining to the final CAT Technical Specification.
  • FIF Data & Technology Committee Meeting - This month's spotlight topic was presented by Tom Jordan from Jordan & Jordan who gave us an overview of the SEC Market Data Roundtable in DC.  We followed this presentation with our monthly Market Data Capacity Reports, a summary of exchange and SIP technical notices and updates, and a review of recent or upcoming regulations that impact market data. Find the meeting materials here and the full capacity report here
  • FIF Rule 600/606 Working Group - We began to discuss the rule requirements in order to elicit implementation-related questions, challenges and concerns for submission to the SEC in the form of a formal request for additional guidance (i.e. FAQs).
  • FIF Cybersecurity Working Group - This month we focused on a SEC Report of Investigation on Cyber-Related Fraud Perpetrated Against Public Companies and Related Internal Accounting Controls Requirements along with several other points of discussion either raised by our chair or our members.
