Nasdaq Announces FLEX Trading Available for IBIT Options
In collaboration with the SEC, the CFTC, and the issuer community, Nasdaq is proud to have been the first exchange to list bitcoin ETF options (IBIT) and is now excited to announce it is also the first to introduce FLEX cash-settled bitcoin ETF options (IBIT) to the market. Nasdaq PHLX (PHLX) and Nasdaq ISE (ISE) have received approval to permit FLEX options trading for options on iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT). IBIT options have been available for trading as FLEX Options since July 30 on PHLX's trading floor and on ISE electronically. ISE will permit IBIT options to trade as cash-settled in addition to physically settled FLEX equity options. Additionally, Nasdaq filed to propose generic listing standards for commodity ETFs, including crypto ETFs. If approved, it'll provide more regulatory clarity in addition to streamlining and expediting time to market for new crypto ETFs. The submission of these generic listings follow Nasdaq's submission and approval for in kind creation and redemption for crypto ETFs.
