On December 9, FIF submitted a request to the SEC to extend for six months the current exemptive relief relating to representative order linkage. FIF would like to thank the members of the CAT Transaction Reporting Working Group for their contributions in the drafting of this exemption request.

FIF has scheduled the next call for the OFR Repo Reporting Working Group for Monday December 16 at 11 am ET. The Working Group will continue its discussion of the implementation of reporting non-centrally cleared bilateral repos.

FIF has scheduled a call for the Short Sales / Reg SHO / Short Reporting Working Group for Tuesday December 17 at 10 am ET. The Working Group will discuss the December 16 updates to the Technical Specification and other technical documentation for short position reporting.   

The Front Office Committee will have its next call on Tuesday December 17 at 11 am ET to review applicable updates and notices from the SEC, FINRA, FINRA CAT and the equity and option exchanges. FIF will review the SEC’s recent approval of 24X Exchange to operate as an exchange. FIF has prepared an outline of the SEC’s approval, which will be reviewed during the Working Group call.

The next call for the Rule 606 Working Group will be on Tuesday December 17 at 2 pm ET. The Working Group will discuss the current status of FIF’s discussions with regulators on how to calculate the percentage of orders routed to different venues for Rule 606(a) reporting. In addition, Working Group members will provide an update to the Working Group on a recent discussion with FINRA representatives relating to the implementation of FINRA Rule 6470 (OTC routing reports).

FIF has scheduled a call for the CAT Transaction Reporting Working Group for Wednesday December 18 at 2 pm ET. The Working Group will review a draft letter to FINRA relating to CAT reporting.

FIF has scheduled the next call for the TRACE Working Group for Thursday December 19 at 11 am ET. The Working Group will continue its discussion of the implementation of one-minute reporting and the new manual trade indicator.

Short Position Reporting. FIF members provided an update to the Working Group on a December 9 call with the SEC staff on the Technical Specification and EDGAR filing issues.
