CAT Updates

As of January 1, 2022, the CAT Committee will be renamed as the CAT Monthly Update Working Group and the CAT Tech Specs Working Group will be renamed as the CAT Transaction Reporting Working Group. This is intended to provide a clearer description of the functions of these groups. The CAT Transaction Reporting Working Group will meet on Wednesday January 5 at 2pm ET; the Working Group will not meet on January 3. The CAT Monthly Update Working Group will meet on Thursday January 6 at 2pm ET. The CAT CAIS Working Group will have its regularly scheduled calls next week on Wednesday and Friday.

FIF Securities Lending Transparency Working Group

The next meeting for the new FIF Securities Lending Transparency Working Group is Tuesday December 21 at 2pm ET. This Working Group will discuss and prepare a comment letter on the SEC’s November 18 rule proposal to create a new reporting system for securities lending. The reporting system, as proposed by the SEC, will apply to equities and bonds, including corporates, Treasuries, Agencies, asset and mortgage-backed securities, and municipal bonds. After the New Year, this group is scheduled to meet on Tuesdays at 2pm ET and Thursdays at 11am ET until the comment letter is completed. TRACE Working Group: FINRA Rule Filing to Amend TRACE Reporting for Delayed Treasury Spot Trades and Portfolio Trades

On December 1, 2021, FINRA filed SR-FINRA-2021-030 with the SEC, “Notice of Filing of Proposed Rule Change to Amend FINRA Rule 6730 to Require Members to Append Modifiers to Delayed Treasury Spot and Portfolio Trades When Reporting to TRACE.” FIF has scheduled the next call for the TRACE Working Group for Tuesday December 21 at 11am ET to make any final edits to FIF’s comment letter on this filing.
