FIF In-Person CAT CAIS Event Hosted by Refinitiv

On Thursday June 16, 2022 from 5-8 pm ET, FIF will host an in-person panel discussion focused on CAT CAIS. The panel discussion will be from 5-6:30 pm with refreshments and networking afterwards from 6:30-8 pm. The event will take place at Refinitiv's offices at 28 Liberty Street, New York, NY 10005. Securities Lending Transparency Working Group

The Securities Lending Transparency Working Group will meet on Tuesday May 31, 2022 at 2 pm ET. The agenda for the call will be to consider a request that FIF received from SEC staff members to discuss the comment letter on the SEC’s Securities Lending Transparency rule proposal that FIF submitted on January 19, 2022. SEC staff members have identified the following issues that they would like to discuss: reporting increment – 15 minutes/end of day/next day; phase in/implementation period; available to lend requirement/utilization rates; arranged financing; and re-hypothecation/internal loans/wholesale v retail.

TRACE/Fixed Income Working Group

The FIF TRACE/Fixed Income Working Group will meet on Thursday June 2, 2022 at 10 am ET to review a draft FIF comment letter on the recent FINRA rule filing with the SEC to expand TRACE reporting to cover transactions in US dollar denominated foreign sovereign bonds. The Working Group also will discuss the May 23, 2022 rule filing by FINRA with the SEC (SR-FINRA-2022-013) to require reporting of transactions in U.S. Treasuries as soon as practicable, but no later than one hour after execution. The rule filing also proposes to require that electronic executions in U.S. Treasuries be reported to TRACE using the same time increment as recorded by the execution system for the transaction. The Working Group also will discuss FINRA Regulatory Notice 22-12 published on May 24, 2022 relating to the new TRACE modifier for portfolio trades in corporate bonds. The Working Group also will continue its discussion of implementation issues relating to the Federal Reserve Board rule to expand TRACE reporting in US Treasuries to include certain depository institutions.

CAT Monthly Update Working Group Call

The CAT Monthly Update Working Group will meet on Thursday June 2 at 2 pm ET to review guidance and updates from the SROs and FINRA CAT on CAT transaction reporting and CAT CAIS reporting during the prior month. The Working Group also will review the current areas of focus for FIF members and the current open issues for CAT transaction reporting and CAT CAIS reporting.

Additional CAT CAIS Working Group Call

FIF has scheduled an additional CAT CAIS Working Group call for this week for Monday May 23, 2022 at 11 am ET. This call is in addition to the regularly-scheduled CAIS Working Group call on Wednesday. The CAIS Working Group will not have a call on Friday May 27 because of the holiday weekend.
