TRACE Working Group

The next call for the TRACE Working Group will be on Thursday September 8 at 10 am ET. The Working Group will continue its review of a draft FIF comment letter on FINRA Regulatory Notice 22-17 and MSRB Notice 2022-07. These regulatory notices propose to reduce to one minute the timeframe for reporting trades in corporate, agency and muni bonds. The Working Group also will review draft FIF members questions for FINRA relating to TRACE reporting for Covered Depository Institutions and TRACE reporting of foreign sovereign bonds. The Working Group also will discuss FINRA’s consideration of a requirement for the reporting of quotes in fixed income securities.

CAT Monthly Update Working Group Call

The FIF CAT Monthly Update Working Group call for September will be on Thursday September 8 at 2 pm ET. The Working Group will review guidance and updates from the CAT Plan Participants and FINRA CAT on CAT transaction reporting and CAT CAIS reporting during the prior month. The Working Group also will review the current areas of focus for FIF members and the current open issues for CAT transaction reporting and CAT CAIS reporting.

Spotlight Presentation by EY Tax Team on IRC 1446(f)

On Thursday September 15 at 2 pm ET, representatives from the EY Tax Team will present on IRC 1446(f), withholding on dispositions of partnership interests. FIF has invited members of the Tax Information Reporting Working Group, the Front and Back Office Committees, and the Compliance Working Group to participate on this call.

CAT Transaction Reporting and CAT CAIS Calls Cancelled for This Week; Call to Discuss Reporting of Price Field in CAT Allocation Events

For the week of August 29 FIF has cancelled the regularly-scheduled Wednesday and Friday calls on CAT CAIS and the regularly-scheduled Wednesday call on CAT Transaction Reporting. FIF has scheduled a call for Wednesday August 31 at 2 pm ET to discuss whether firms include the mark-up, mark-down or commission when reporting the “price” field in CAT Allocation events.
