FIF In-Person Event: Hosted by OTC Markets

On Thursday June 29, FIF will hold an in-person event at the offices of OTC Markets (300 Vesey Street, New York, NY 10282). There will be two panels, with one focusing on the SEC rule proposal to amend the Rule 3b-16 definition of exchange and the other focusing on digital asset regulation. Rule 606 Working Group

The next call for the FIF Rule 606 Working Group is scheduled for Wednesday June 7 at 3 pm ET. The Working Group will review a revised draft supplemental FIF comment letter to the SEC on the FINRA rule proposal for order routing disclosures for OTC equities. The comment letter is focused on the scenario where a reporting firm routes child orders to multiple execution venues for a single parent order.

Emerging Technologies Working Group

On Tuesday June 13 at 3 pm ET, Atulya Jyoti of Kyndryl will present to the Emerging Technologies Working Group on Mainframe Data Democratization in Capital Markets. Legacy mainframe applications and operations remain central to nearly all major capital markets firms. Trade processing, custody, and fund administration continue to require the secure, high-volume, and scalable platforms mainframes provide. So how can companies unlock value from all this mainframe data, exposing it to modern AI and analytics tools often only available on the cloud? In this talk we will look at an emerging capability known as data democratization which uses modern data pipelines to drive innovation and monetization for data on the mainframe, and examples of how it can transform capital market processes.
