CAT Transaction Reporting and CAIS Working Groups

FIF has scheduled two calls for the CAT Transaction Reporting and CAIS Working Groups for this week. The first call will be on Tuesday January 13 at 11 am ET; the second call will be on Wednesday January 14 at 2 pm ET. The Working Groups will continue the discussion of a draft FIF comment letter in response to the recent rule filing by CAT LLC to reduce CAT operating costs.

Rule 605 Working Group

The Rule 605 Working Group will have its next call on Tuesday January 13 at 1 pm ET. The Working Group will continue the discussion of open interpretive questions relating to implementation of the Rule 605 amendments, including reporting for different order types and orders with different characteristics. The Working Group will also discuss a draft letter to the SEC to request written interpretive guidance relating to the Rule 605 amendments.

Extension of TRF Operating Hours and Real-Time Reporting

FIF has scheduled a call for the TRF/ORF Working Group for Wednesday January 14 at 11 am ET. FIF members and FIF will provide an update to the full Working Group on a call with FINRA on January 9 relating to the planned extension of TRF operating hours and real-time reporting to start at 4 a.m.

Tax Information Reporting Working Group

The next call for the Tax Information Reporting Working Group will be on Wednesday January 14 at 3 pm ET. Representatives from Wolters Kluwer will discuss IRS FAQs about digital asset broker reporting.

FINRA Rule Filing to Replace Day Trading Margin Rules

FIF has scheduled a joint call for the Short Sales / Reg SHO / Short Reporting Working Group and the Compliance and Surveillance Working Group for Thursday January 15 at 2 pm ET. The Working Groups will discuss the recent rule filing by FINRA to replace the current day trading margin provisions with intraday margin standards.
