Kyndryl Introduces “Kyndryl Quantum Services & Consulting” to Address Quantum Computer Opportunities and Challenges

Kyndryl, a company that specializes in designing and managing critical systems and application workloads including next generation platforms including quantum computing, made a comprehensive presentation to the Emerging Technologies Working Group of the Financial Information Forum on December 12. “We believe that Quantum Computing and Technologies will become a ubiquitous part of everyday lives, helping to address some of the biggest and most complex problems that cannot be addressed by current digital computers. It represents both an opportunity and a threat,” said Bill Genovese (Global Quantum Principal & Team Leader). The presentation began with a review of quantum fundamentals including sub-atomic particles, qubits, superposition and quantum entanglement. He pointed out how the vast capacities of quantum computers can easily overcome today’s security protocols and capacity limitations.  Fortunately, there are many companies - both large and small - addressing these issues as quantum computing moves from laboratories to production environments. Kyndryl is an FIF member and has offered to make future presentations as the era of quantum computing evolves.
