On October 21, FIF submitted a comment letter to the SEC and the other financial regulators on the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to implement certain requirements of the Financial Data Transparency Act (“FDTA”). FIF would like to thank the members of the FDTA Working Group for their contributions in the drafting of this comment letter.

On October 22, FIF submitted a letter to the Treasury Department’s Office of Financial Research (“OFR”) relating to implementation of the new requirement to report non-centrally cleared bilateral repos to the OFR. FIF would like to thank the members of the OFR Repo Reporting Working Group for their contributions in the drafting of this letter.

On October 25, FIF submitted a comment letter to the SEC in support of the rule filing by the CAT Plan Participants to reduce CAT operating costs. FIF would like to thank the members of the CAT Transaction Reporting Working Group for their participation in the drafting of this comment letter.

FIF has scheduled two calls for this week for the Short Sales / Reg SHO / Short Position Reporting Working Group. The first call will be on Monday October 28 at 10 am ET; the second call will be on Tuesday October 29 at 11 am ET. The Working Group will continue to discuss the implementation of short position reporting, including an update on a call with SEC representatives on October 24 and the review of a draft FIF letter to the SEC relating to the draft Form SHO technical documentation.
